Vinyasa Yoga
The classes I share encourage you to move in a way that feels good for you. With Vinyasa flow, we connect with our breath and then use this connection of breath as a rhythm and guide to our practice. This welcomes back in more fluidity and space within our bodies and minds, so that the benefits are far reaching beyond the hour you spend on your mat.
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga gives the opportunity to invite in stillness and space to the body and mind.
Stillness and space that has always been there, but might yet to be embraced, as it’s so often buried underneath all of the layers of daily life.
Yin can encourage the lifting of these layers with longer held poses, to access this inherent calm which resides in us all.
With extended time, the bodies deeper connective tissues and fascia can also be healthily targeted, bringing in flow and nourishment to every system of the body.
I weave in my studies as Yin yoga has its roots in Chinese Medicine. Aiming to restore balance, we journey through the 5 elements and hold poses that work with the energy channels within the body.
A perfect way to tune into the natural rhythm of all things… a remedy to the pace of life we so often find ourselves in.
Meditation
What is meditation?
To me meditation isn’t about turning your thoughts or feelings off, or even trying to control or clear your mind. As that’s just not possible. Our minds hold an incredible and essential capacity to plan, think, learn, interpret and so much more…
Meditation is more about sweetly meeting yourself exactly as you are in the moment you find yourself in. Using anchors such as the breath to connect to the present moment and to the part of you that can observe what is arising within the moment. This is the part that has the capacity to become ever curious about the workings of your mind. It is from this place of presence and with kind attention, we can shift from ‘doing’ to ‘being’. From this perspective we free our thoughts and feelings up so they can move back on their way again, rather than lingering and getting stuck in a repetitive thought loop.
Through the practice of meditation we touch base with a sense of spaciousness within our minds, bringing ease, creativity, clarity and a deeper connection to yourself and those around you.
